1. Compare and contrast metals and non-metals.  Give some examples for each.
2. Which elements are liquids at SATP?..

4. What are the metalloids?  Give a list of all metalloids.(p 262 will be helpful)
5. How was Newlands periodic table arranged?
6. State Newlands Law of Octaves.  Since noble gases were not discovered at that time, why do you suppose the word octave was used?

draw squares in approximate locations along the staircase and label them as metalloids
